Job description

## About the company We are a scientific and analytical company dedicated to providing strategic and scientific/research support to life science companies. Our mission is to tackle complex challenges with tailored solutions that enable our clients to innovate and thrive in the rapidly evolving healthcare landscape. As a growing company, we are looking for a PhD or Master's-level Senior RWE Scientist. The position will be based in Ireland. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in epidemiological methods, data analysis, and healthcare datasets, along with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. You will support strategic initiatives, conduct quantitative analyses, and contribute to research projects that shape decision-making for biotech, pharmaceutical, and healthcare organisations. - Purpose of the Role The Employee will perform epidemiological research and project activities using real-world healthcare data to support client programmes. The role focuses on study design and the application of advanced causal-inference methods. The Employee will contribute to and progressively lead projects end-to-end, operating under senior guidance on more complex engagements while taking ownership of methodological components across the portfolio. - Key Duties and Responsibilities - 1 Study Design and Methods (as assigned) - Contribute to the design of observational studies, including defining research questions and the conceptualization of the target trial. Design the emulation with real-world data such as electronic health records and administrative claims - Propose design features to appropriately align time zero with eligibility and treatment assignment (e.g., matching, clone/censor/weighting, sequential emulation) - Contribute to a full specification of the statistical methodology needed for the emulation of the target trial, especially in setting with time-varying confounding (e.g., inverse probability of treatment weighting, g-formula) - Design studies comparing sustained and dynamic treatment strategies, including the definition of per-protocol and adherence-adjusted effects. - Contribute to evaluating the fitness-for-purpose of RWD - Assist in drafting and amending study protocols and statistical analysis plans (SAPs), with increasing independence over time. - Help align study designs with regulatory and HTA expectations for real-world evidence (e.g., FDA, EMA, NICE) and with reporting guidelines (e.g., TARGET). - Critically appraise published studies and client materials (e.g., protocols, dossiers) from a methodological perspective. - 2 Project Execution and Coordination - Manage day-to-day delivery for defined projects, including timelines, risk tracking, and inter-team dependencies. - Maintain action logs, version control, and complete project files in Company systems. - Produce timely, accurate deliverables: protocol sections, SAPs, slide decks, and technical appendices. - 3 Client and Internal Collaboration - Participate in client meetings; capture requirements and communicate implications for scope, timelines, and study design. - Contribute to proposals, level-of-effort estimates, and statements of work under senior supervision. - Provide day-to-day guidance to junior team members and share knowledge across the wider team. - Contribute to internal methods notes, templates, and reusable deliverables. - Contribute to methods training, workshops, and scientific exchange sessions for clients and internal teams (e.g., on target trial emulation and confounding adjustment). - Contribute to peer-reviewed publications and conference presentations arising from project work, where client agreements allow. - Skills and Qualifications - PhD in Epidemiology or Biostatistics, with a heavy component of causal inference. Ideally at least one year of postdoctoral activity in a causal inference research group.
