Content Marketing Lead
Oyster
Job Description
✨ One platform, a whole world of opportunity The best jobs have always clustered in a handful of the world's wealthiest cities. But talent is everywhere. Oyster set out to close that gap - building a global employment platform that lets companies hire, pay, and care for… ## What you'll do operate as an AI-first functional lead rather than a traditional editorial manager. There are no direct reports, deliberately. Your leverage will come from the AI systems and governance you design—research agents, brand-voice models, fact-checking, source verification, repurposing, and evaluation—plus the senior stakeholders, freelancers, agencies, and subject-matter experts you mobilize. We are looking for the person who wants to find out how much editorial ambition one exceptional operator with a well-built AI stack can carry, and who will set the standard for what an AI-native content function looks like. The scope is unusual for a single role: a live audience across our library, newsletter, and podcast; a leadership team that publishes and speaks; proprietary employment data from 180+ countries; and the mandate to build this function the way it should be built, not the way it has always been done. Key Responsibilities Own the narrative - Define Oyster’s long-term editorial and category strategy across Marketing, executive leadership, Product, People, Legal, and customer-facing teams. - Resolve high-stakes narrative trade-offs and establish the positions, evidence standards, and language Oyster uses consistently across business areas. - Own a multi-year editorial roadmap and a focused portfolio of flagship research and thought-leadership bets linked to company strategy. - Act as the final quality bar for voice, accuracy, evidence, and taste across human- and AI-produced content. Build company-wide AI content mechanisms - Architect and govern reusable systems for research, brand voice, fact-checking, source verification, repurposing, evaluation, and reporting. - Define risk-based rules for where AI leads, where humans lead, and where specialist or executive approval is mandatory. - Establish mechanisms and standards adopted across Marketing and relevant partner teams, not only within the content workflow. - Measure leverage through throughput, cycle time, cost, adoption, quality, and business impact; evolve the system each quarter. Lead thought leadership and executive voice - Set the operating model for executive publishing and advise leaders on the arguments Oyster should make publicly. - Turn proprietary employment, salary, and hiring data into a durable original-research programme that shapes external conversation. - Mobilize newsletter, podcast, events, PR, analyst relations, Product Marketing, partner/customer storytelling, and social around shared narratives. Own business impact - Connect editorial and narrative decisions to company growth, customer trust, target-account engagement, earned influence, and pipeline. - Build reporting that enables executives and teams to make better portfolio and investment decisions. - Identify emerging market shifts early and recommend company responses before they become obvious. Mobilize the extended organization - Set direction for senior stakeholders, freelancers, agencies, specialists, and subject-matter experts without relying on formal authority. - Create decision rights, operating rhythms, and shared standards that enable multiple teams to execute consistently. - Define the long-term roadmap and future organizational shape of the capability, including what remains expert-led, becomes a system, or requires hiring.
