As part of the Supplier Engineering team, you will support activities related to the qualification, assessment and ongoing performance of supplier materials and components. Working closely with experienced engineers and cross-functional teams, you will gain exposure to supplier qualification, supplier changes, material specifications, investigations and continuous improvement activities. Key Responsibilities: - Build quality into all aspects of your work by maintaining compliance with applicable quality, regulatory and Supplier Management ## What you'll bring . - Support Supplier Engineering and Supplier Quality activities associated with new product, acquisition and sustaining projects, including supplier and material qualification, supplier change assessments and restricted material evaluations. - Assist with routine technical activities associated with supplied materials and components, including First Article reports, component/material assessments, non-conforming event and product (NCEP) investigations and Change Requests. - Support the investigation of supplier material quality issues identified at receiving inspection or within manufacturing. Work with Supplier Quality, Quality, Procurement, Manufacturing and other cross-functional teams to help investigate issues, determine assignable/root causes and support appropriate product disposition. - Apply structured problem-solving and basic statistical tools, with guidance from experienced engineers, to investigate supplied material issues and support data-driven decisions. - Assist in the development, review and verification of specifications for raw materials, components and manufacturing supplies, as well as inspection procedures and appropriate test methods. - Work with suppliers and experienced engineering colleagues to support the investigation and resolution of supplier quality, technical and supply issues, developing effective communication and supplier management skills. - Support supplier corrective action activities by assisting with investigations, reviewing supporting data and following up on the implementation and effectiveness of corrective actions, with guidance from experienced Supplier Engineering/Quality colleagues. - Participate in supplier qualification and supplier change activities, helping to assess technical information and ensure supplied materials and components continue to meet established requirements. - Support the application of Boston Scientific Quality System and Supplier Management requirements within the supply base and develop an understanding of applicable procedures, standards and regulatory requirements. - Participate in supplier troubleshooting and continuous improvement activities, including activities at supplier facilities where appropriate and under the guidance of experienced engineering staff. - Support continuous improvement initiatives across the supply base relating to quality, service, cost and process capability, while developing knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma and other problem-solving methodologies. - Participate as a technical team member on cross-functional teams involving Supplier Engineering, Supplier Quality, Procurement, Receiving Inspection, Manufacturing, Quality and other Business Units, contributing to supplier management and project objectives. …
